The Mama Mary's Story

Spartan Foods of America, Inc. was established in 1987. The company introduced Mama Mary's Gourmet Pizza Crusts products to the grocery trade in 1990 and became an instant success. The pizza crusts are manufactured and shipped from our state-of-the-art facility in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Today, Mama Mary's can be purchased in more than 20,000 supermarkets in 50 states and Puerto Rico. Mama Mary's is the second largest selling pizza crust in America and is the fastest growing item in the category nationally. Mama Mary's is available in two sizes... 12" 2 pack and 7" 3 pack.

Our Gourmet Pizza Crusts selection includes customer favorites such as: 7" and 12" Traditional, 7" and 12" Thin & Crispy and 12" 100% Whole Wheat with Honey. You'll also want to try our new 12" x 12" Brick Oven Style Crusts. We also have Mama Mary's Regular, Mushroom and Pepperoni Pizza Sauce. Plus, Mama Mary's team of chefs is developing something new and tempting everyday! Keep your taste buds ready!

In 1999, the company introduced its Mama Mary's Homestyle ready-made pancakes, available in both buttermilk and blueberry. These are the only ready-made never frozen pancakes available in the market, and have been a very popular item with the consumer.

Thomas P. Baliker is founder and president and, yes, there is a real Mama Mary; Thomas Baliker's mother and she will turn 93 years young September 7, 2008. Our goals remain the same today as they did in 1987... quality and value!
